Keep up with your bearings!

Bearing failure can occur at the most inopportune moments of production. Prevent it from happening to you by understanding what causes bearing failure and what steps you can take to avoid it.

Problem: Fractures/Chipping
Cause: Excessive or uneven loading, large or repeated shock during mounting
Prevention Methods: Review the load conditions: Is the use of recommended tools being adhered to? Is there enough support for the bearing rib? Improve the mounting method.

Problem: Wear
Cause: Presence of debris, excessive loading, electrical corrosion.
Prevention Methods: Keep the housing clean. Check the alignment.
Consider your lubricant and application method: Is the oil thoroughly filtered?

Problem: Creep/Scoring
Cause: Loose fit, inadequate interference, insufficient sleeve tightening
Prevention Methods: Prevent rotation of the interference. Tighten side face of the raceway ring. Apply adhesive or film of lubricant to the fitting surface. Improve the sleeve tightening.

Pineapple Upside-Down Cake

(Serves 12-16)
From Terri's Sweet Treats Collection

 

1 Yellow, White or Pineapple cake mix
½ Cup (1 stick) butter
1 Cup packed brown sugar
1 Can (20 oz) pineapple slices, drained
Maraschino cherry halves, drained

 

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Melt butter and stir in brown sugar. Pour evenly into 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Arrange pineapple slices on sugar mix and put cherry halves in center of each slice. Prepare cake as directed on package. Spread batter evenly over fruit.

 

Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 43 to 48 minutes, until toothpick inserted in center of cake comes out clean.

 

Let stand for 5 minutes to set topping. Loosen cake from pan and turn upside-down out on platter.

Sabine has been an employee of P+ for nearly five years at our Munich, Germany location. A specialist of customer care, Sabine is also in charge of sales and assists the marketing department with European campaigns and tradeshows.

 

She very much enjoys contacting customers and experiencing new challenges on a daily basis. “We have a great team of workers with a balanced atmosphere,” says Sabine; something that comes in handy when assisting customers. Each team member does their part to solve problems and to provide the best experience possible for customers.

 

Sabine’s role in the office? Much like a Pump Housing, “I keep people and things together,” she says.

George Dritschel

Lead Man

Niagara Falls, NY Americas Warehouse

 

George is living proof that not many employees leave P+!

A fifteen year veteran, George supervises many of the warehouse personnel at our Niagara Falls location, and makes sure your kits are correctly packaged and shipped before he sends them on their way.

 

Perhaps one of the many reasons George hasn’t left P+ is because he sees his coworkers as “family”. “Some [employees] have been here a while, others a short time, but they all fit in,” he says.

 

And George is very much like a proud papa; offering to help the office folk with packaging and shipping and constantly offering his lunch left-over’s to his staff on a daily basis. “Can’t let anyone go hungry!” he says. I agree! Can I get a meatball sub over here?
